Wit Happens is a mobile application and website operated by VizMAP Pty Ltd trading as Grime (“Grime”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Wit Happens app, visit wit.grime.net, or contact us.
Information stored on your device
Your favourites and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Grime does not receive your saved favourites. This local information may be removed if you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app.
Advertising in the app
Wit Happens displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect or process information such as device identifiers, IP address, general location, advertising interactions and diagnostic information to provide, measure, personalise and protect advertising, subject to your device settings and applicable consent choices.

Sharing and copying
If you choose to share a quote, the app opens the sharing services available on your device. Information you then share is handled by the service you select under its own privacy terms. Copying a quote places it on your device’s clipboard.
Website and technical information
The Wit Happens website is built with WordPress and hosted by Bluehost. When you visit the website, the hosting service may automatically process technical information contained in server logs, including your IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, date and time of access, referring address and error information. This information is used to deliver the website, maintain security, diagnose faults and understand website performance.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies required for security, administration, performance and basic operation. Additional analytics or measurement technologies may be used if enabled in the future. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect some website functions.
Information you provide
Wit Happens does not currently require an app account and does not directly collect names, email addresses or user-created content through the app.
If you contact Grime by email, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message and any attachments. We use it to respond, investigate reported quotation or attribution issues, maintain correspondence and protect our legitimate interests.
Third-party services
The app and website rely on third-party services that may process information under their own privacy policies. These may include Google AdMob, Google Play services, Apple services if an iOS version is released, Bluehost, WordPress-related services and the sharing services available on your device.
Retention
Information stored locally by the app remains on your device until you remove it, clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. Email correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. Technical logs and information processed by third-party providers are retained according to their operational requirements and privacy policies.
International processing
Some third-party providers may process or store information outside Australia. Their privacy policies describe the locations and safeguards applicable to their processing.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect information under our control. No internet transmission, website, application or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children
Wit Happens is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly ask children to submit personal information directly to Grime through the app.
Your choices and privacy enquiries
You can remove locally stored app information by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it. Advertising and privacy controls may also be available through your device settings, Google settings or Apple settings, as applicable.
You may contact us to ask about personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or raise a privacy concern. Some requests may be subject to identity verification and applicable legal requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, website, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page.
